It's fine to give the Governor some credit for his out-of-character measured response to a disaster in another state, but if a similar disaster were to occur in Illinos, whom would you rather have in the Governor's office -- Rod Blagojevich or Jim Edgar? In fact, is there any doubt that ANY of the Republican candidates would be more capable and competent in an emergency than "Elvis?"
Actually, given a choice between Dan Walker II (AKA Blagojevich) and Jim Edgar, I choose to go with State Rep. Lou Lang. We need to urge Lang to run against Rod in the Democratic Primary, because that is the one chance we had to rid ourselves of Rod and his out-of-state handlers.
2006 was going to be a diaster for the Republican Party in Illinois, even before Bush said, "Brownie, you're doing a heck of a job." Now the Republicans will be lucky to avoid a total wipeout.
