A Blago v. JBT match-up would pit someone with whom I agree on many issues but who does not act on those beliefs against someone with whom I agree on fewer issues but who seems more likely to act on those beliefs.
The question would be: Which of those candidates is more likely to act in accord with my beliefs.
And it seems to me that a strong candidacy by JBT would shore-up the moderate-liberal wing of the IL-GOP and that could only work to the advantage of those of us who believe that government can and should be used for good.
If you really think Topinka will be the GOP nominee, you need more sleep.
It is far more plausible that she will switch parties, run against Blago in the Democratic primary and beat him, after the Cubs meet the Sox in the world series.

Topinka still is under federal investigation. She can't win a primary or general under those circumstances

Bill, don't advertise you're not related to JBT. You might end up in the landfill business.
You never know when you'll have to drop the governor's name to get the Illinois EPA to get off your back.

Don't think that thought hasn't crossed my mind. She's in the Sun Times again today swinging at Blogo... I wonder how many Democratic votes she could take in a one to one against him? I admit to knowing little about her on issues other than abortion where she's a moderate. My sisters likes her because she shops at garage sales. Horrible to admit we're educated people and our choices come down gee the candidate goes garage saling just like me on Sat Am.
