online polls for governor
I created two online polls for governor: one Democrat, one Republican.
You are invited to vote. The polls require voters rank candidates. The voting method is called Condorcet.
Please vote in only one primary, the Dems or the GOP. Don't vote in both please.

Anon wants John Schmidt included in the next poll.
One or more of the low ranking names will come off in the next poll and Schmidt will be included.

Many if not most voters are not ranking the full field of candidates. This seems to be a limitation with Condorcet voting. When the field is too big voters don't bother to rank the full field.
What's the maximum number of options where voters--or at least 90% of them--will bother to rank the full field?
My guess is that voters will almost all rank a field of four, but eight is too many. Comments?
I'm thinking the next version of the poll will have smaller fields.
I'll leave off Blagojevich. I'll probably leave off Hynes, Madigan and Poshard on the theory that if any one of them runs against RB it will clear the field. I'll drop Brown for lack of enthusiasm and add Schmidt. Then I'll divide the field into a group of four and a group of five. The top candidates will then go to on to the next round.
In the GOP field I'm leaning toward dividing it into two six candidate fields.

Still toying with what the next round fields will be.
It does seem like Republican voters can manage voting in a field of 12 better than Dems can handle a field of 13.

OK there is a subset of Republicans that follow instructions even worse than Democrats.
What do these "comprehension challenged" Republicans have in common? They think Joe Birkett would be the best choice for the Republicans to nominate for governor.
